You’ll find Brackett’s Landing South Park just west of downtown Edmonds, south of the Edmonds Ferry dock, at Main Street & Railroad Avenue. (GPS: 47.8121° N 122.3859° W)
This park is on the south side of the Edmonds Ferry Terminal. It has a wheel chair accessible walkway, benches and picnic tables. A large grassy area is a great place to hang out. Enjoy the beach access and view of the Olympics across Puget Sound. Take a stroll and enjoy the scenery while waiting for the bus or ferry. You can also walk down the beach front to Olympic Beach, or go north to the other side of the Ferry Terminal to Brackett’s Landing North.
Just south of the Edmonds Ferry Terminal is an open grassy area with several benches and picnic tables. It’s a good place to watch the ferries come and go. The photo below is looking north toward the Ferry Terminal.
One of my favorite sculptures, “Beach Launch,” is located here. This sculpture is of three children and their wooden boat. Look closely at the sculpture, the amazing detail. The boat is obviously in need of repair. Not the hammer in the hand of the child at the front, and another hammer on the back seat. Also on the seats are nails, including bent nails. And some sea shells someone has collected. The child looking into the boat is wearing a swim mask. Look for the octopus under the back seat. And the saw under the front seat.
